Poor Boy Just Don't I have the questions to your answers like a drawbridge across the moat now I don't know, and I know that I won't 'cause a poor boy just don't as the flag flies above us a pile of nothing on the hill I can't tell what's fake and what's real and a poor boy never will and if it looks like I'm holding out I'm holding out and if I act like I'm losing out it's ‘cause I'm losing out..... I have the questions to your answers like a drawbridge across the moat now I don't know, and I know I won't 'cause a poor boy just don't

Bill Callahaning I'm feasting, I'm feasting on famine and I'm finding that though I'm not trying, I'm still understanding and my Zeppelin, my Zeppelin is landing and I feel like d'Artagnan, and I'm Bill Callahaning This picture that shines and surrounds, it has no conscience I love the colors and sounds but I don't like the violence they sell you their baubles and stones and they tell you it's just what you want but brother I know that it's not cause just look around what it's done and it's true, we do, love undercover and I knew when I met you that we should be lovers This riot that reels and explodes, it has no purpose I love the lions so I never go to the circus They scream and the shout and they shoot then they blame and deny and accuse and when children behave like they do we send them off to their rooms your patience is crimson and golden it's just like a robe of a queen but it has no ending and my zeppelin, my zeppelin's ascending and you're my companion and I'm Bill Callahaning and it's true, we do, love undercover and I knew when I met you that we should be lovers

Hymn 03:52
Hymn if there's a virtue in this life it's in the soil, sea and in the sky though the man who tells you so is a lie now they have come to disregard this place that's yours, this place that's ours 'cause their father calls them home when they die I have always come to you in times of trouble, when times are cruel and you've always shown me an open road to carry on now Jesus Christ will come again to save us from these Christian men with their lightning and their curses and their lies and so my mother, don't you cry your house is burning, so let them die with your lightning and your curses, and your tides I have always come to you in times of trouble, when times are cruel and you've always shown me an open road to carry on and I know you love them, but I don't you will forgive them, but I hope you won't say goodbye now, for just a while now and carry on

Two Songs in One I was walking through the hills of Carolina with my little raccoon on a string it's been so many days since I've seen another face or even talked to a human being and as I turn my head to heaven and I face those stars above I can count the times that I blew my chance for love standing on the side of the hoiughway now my backpack blown over by the wind and by the way that it sags I can tell I left my bag in the last truck that I was in and as I turn my head to heaven and I face that baby blue if I see your eye can I take it as a sign from you and from the top of the tallest redwood I will sing two songs in one the first to go out and find you and the second to bring you home drifting down the river to the ocean at night on a bundle of sticks and cans and I'm waving my lantern to a passing phantom but nobody knows where I am and as I turn my head to heaven and I face those stars above I can count the times that I blew my chance for love and from the top of the tallest redwood I will sing two songs in one the first to go out and find you and the second to bring you home and from the middle of the longest highway I will sing two songs in one the verse to go out and find you and the chorus to bring you home

Joan of Arc 02:41
Joan of Arc You can see the smoke and feel the panic 500 miles above the planet I won't fight and I won't lie And if they kill me I will die But I know that I am right A daily dose of colored warnings From blue to yellow, to red from orange They are blind and they are wrong And they deny what they have done And we ll rejoice when they are gone Even Helen Keller can hear her own beating heart And 007 is jealous of Joan of Arc So if you'll kill for your beliefs Won't you step this way please so the rest can live in peace

July 03:25
July The city rides in dreams upon a soft pillow; as if one whisper of her legendary height in sleep proposes nothing of advantage to an intercourse that crumbles distantly, with solemn sentient of being, this city desiring, falls in love with itself, deadened by numbers taut expressions appear nameless from subterranean scrawls But when she wakes upon this weight (for such anathema will not be done again) and in the waking hour upon restraint tames the wasted port and rubs the eye, Whose cowl is a memory of night and drink; some ridiculous dream! Halfway over Brooklyn bridge!

Dandelion 04:12
Dandelion Look in the window can you tell your eyes are swollen? look at my hands how many fingers I'm holding? One for your maker and one for your maid two for your mother and one for your dad hey little girl, darling, stop your crying cupcakes and candles and candy and Champagne cocktails in shells isn't it time that you did for yourself? yellow and selfish and lovely and clever and lazy daffodils buttercups dandelions and daisies one that she loves me and two she does not three she remembers and four she forgot you're so full of it girl, I can't keep counting blackberry lotion pancakes and poison butter and jam making believe that you don't understand laces and lanyards and ribbons and panyards dragging you down don't tell me your just figuring that out now don't go blowing your heart out dandelion don't go blowing it out don't go blowing it
8.
Bad Check 01:55
Bad Check just turn your pillow over and be glad I'm gone my nose is bleeding from the chances that I've blown your disappointment shows me what I know is true I wrote a bad check on you leaving mornings leaving evenings I don't know what's worse I feel like Johnny Thunders going through your purse and even I am sick of my lame and lousy lies I'm going pay in cash tonight and even am sick of my lame and lousy lies I'm going pay in cash tonight

Idiot on the Hill Every night I go out I pull my coon skin cap and my shirt tails out setting traps and snares in the second biggest town in the hemisphere What am I going to do? I can’t catch field mice for thinking of you and I just won’t stand for it now so I guess I’ll go back and lie down for a while falling leaves and broken dreams they’re just grist for the mill grinding out another stupid song of grief it’s the idiot on the hill and every night I come home I toss my hat into the old wood stove and when it burst into flames I light my cigarette and warm my hands what am I going to do? I can’t watch TV for thinking of you and I just won’t stand for it girl so I guess I’ll go back and lie down for a while breathing in this stupid stuff and spinning out of control the chance of a lifetime is never enough for the idiot on the hill the idiot on the hill

Kevin and Caroline Kevin can't make it happen 'cause Caroline just won't let it Kevin can't seem to please her for a minute and if Kevin can't make her happy a gentleman to the limit a guy like me just might as well forget it and outside by the road the cicadas and the toads singing like it's all supposed to be crashing trucks and cars sinking holes and broken hearts laid out like the gifts beneath the tree the gifts beneath the tree and Caroline far from common such a beautiful woman you think that she could let go for a moment and Kevin has everything a married man could dream except for the life the little boy was given and if there's smoke before the flame the smoke comes back again and blows out over everything you see but just because it was doesn't mean it ever was something that was never to be never meant to be and if Kevin can't make her happy a gentleman to the limit a guy like me just might as well forget it

Sorry Song 03:20
Sorry Song from time to time my heart just feels wrong I want to say sorry for all the bad things that I've done I sit down to write it out but it just goes on and on and if it bores you then I’m sorry I'm sorry Alice for letting you down at a time when you really needed someone I was an asshole and I probably still am but that doesn't mean that I'm not sorry (cause I am) I'm sorry Connie for kissing you like I did but I'm sorrier now for not getting more when i could losing out to Sean Lennon, well I'll take that but has he told you that he's sorry? (I doubt it) I'm sorry Mother, and I'm sorry Dad for turning out the way that I have there were things you wanted, things I could have helped you have I'm just a sorry excuse for a man but there are men who don't apologize for anything you know who I'm talking about so I won’t even mention it people have died people have starved, been literally washed away and right now I almost feel sorry for him I'm sorry this apology doesn't mean a thing and I'm sorry you'll throw it right back in my face again well I don't blame you, it's not words, it's action and that's why I'm acting so sorry “sorry!”

Every Night I'm Killing This river's running so strong and still If from my side I see your light I will wave to you great creaking hallow with squirrels and swallows I'll not waste another day in these lonely/friendly shadows morning noon and evenings pass like boxcars down the line and if I get my hands on you I'll...... now I'm all for changing but this ain't Bob Dylan these days I'm digging graves for every night I'm killing love and lovers pass me by like boxcars down the line but once I get my hands on you I'll......
